Our Values

At East Claydon we all subscribe to the core Christian values of:

  • Kindness
  • Courage
  • Commitment
  • Joy

They underpin everything we do as a community and define how we build our relationships across the school.

KindnessLuke 6:31 says to ‘Treat others the way you want to be treated’ –

We know that kindness means everyone feels valued and safe. We care for everyone, support each other, and respect differences. We know that equity—giving people the help they need to succeed—is key to being fair.

CourageJoshua 1:9 tells us that ‘God is with me wherever I go, so I can be brave’ –

We show this by doing the right thing even when it’s hard, being kind and honest, and trying new things because we feel safe and supported. We look after each other’s well‑being and help our classmates feel brave too.

Collaboration - Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 reminds us that ‘We do better together, and we help each other up.’

We do this by working well with anyone—of any age, or any group—to reach a shared goal. We listen, share roles, and stay positive. We support each other by explaining ideas and noticing when help is needed. We check each other’s work and offer support to improve.

JoyPeter 1:8 explains that ‘We can have joy so big it’s hard to put into words!’-

We find the joy in our learning, we celebrate progress together, and make school feel exciting and safe. We are happy in school and come to school regularly, and on time, because we love learning.
